Happy Birthday USA!

Thought you might like to view some photos of our 4th of July festivities! I just got the CD from Chaddy and had to share!

We all had the best time while Chad, Lisa and Shanerella visited! We had a pool side party at Edgar's place, went shopping at Village Pointe, ate Sushi at Kona Grill, visited James Arthur Vineyard (above) and, of course, partied constantly at Danno's.

Now, you will ALL love watching Chad on the bull at Uncle Ron's. "I'm gonna ride that bull, Bud!"

Coeur d'Alene

My ISRAE conference this year was in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Coeur d'Alene lake was beautiful and I had a great time with my friends from other state associations.

First, one of our speakers looked like Jack McFarland! Check it out!

"JUST JACK"

The whole group went on a dinner cruise that was excellent. Above: Laura (NJ), Donna (NRA), Patti (OK), Jana (AZ), Moira (IL), Beth (NRA), Shellie (OH), Katie (NRA), Me, Barb (CO). Fun group!

We also had time for a little pontoon boat excursion. This was fun, except for the part where Carol grabbed our ankles while we were dipping our feet in the water - BAD CAROL!

Go Cards!

The Porters and the Hoops' travelled to St. Louis to watch a Cardinals/Phillies game in June. We had a great time and even made it to our favorite place, Hooters. The Cards won the Saturday game we attended and we missed the rain by mere seconds. Thanks for coming with us, Jody and Kevin!

Hello, Mr. President

I just recently returned from a work trip to Washington, D.C. I was there for the National Restaurant Association Membership Seminar. During my three day visit, I was able to do some site seeing in our nation's capitol.

The first stop I made on Thursday was at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. A nice German tourist too my photo in front of the White House. I spend 2 hours walking around downtown D.C., getting the lay of the land. The buildings are just amazing!

On Friday, I was able to get into the Library of Congress before it closed for the day. They had a couple exhibits inside, but I wanted to see the ACTUAL library, so I just poked my head in one of the reading rooms and took a look around quickly. The library was magnificent and the history of this grand place hit me. The photo above was the view of the ceiling and top floor entrance to the library. It closed before I could take advantage of the entire tour, but I'm glad I made it at all!The Capitol was by far the coolest thing. I just sat here for awhile and watched people leave work. This is the south side of the building and when I turned around, I had a beautiful view of the Washington National Monument. Of course, everyone has seen a beautiful view of the monument, so I didn't bother uploading it to the blog site.

Last but not least, my favorite architectural building - The Smithsonian Castle. Completed in 1855, the original Smithsonian Institution Building was designed by architect James Renwick Jr., whose other works include St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C. This building was home to the first Secretary of the Smithsonian Joseph Henry and his family. Located inside near the north entrance is the crypt of James Smithson, benefactor of the Institution, while outside on the Mall, a bronze statue of Joseph Henry (above), honors the scientist who was the Institution’s first Secretary.

During my stay, I dined at fantastic restaurants, walked the national mall and even did some light shopping. Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. President.

TGI Nebraska

Crystal Perrozzi and I spoke on the phone last night and we started watching the new mini-series, The Starter Wife. Boy is that lifestyle a million miles away. The entire show consisted of snotty, rich women in ugly hats backstabbing each other while living California snob life. Though, Debra Messing's character, Holly, was normal before she married some hotshot Hollywood producer, and during the two hour premiere, she gradually came off her high horse.

Aren't we all happy to be living in the midwest? The best part of the whole show was the hottie on the beach (is that you Mr. Governor of Cali?), security guard/student, and the rich drunk friend, Joan.

Happy 30th Courtney

Yes, Courtney turned 30th yesterday. A few of us had a quaint little dinner at Windchimes and enjoyed watching some business men at the table next to us.

Happy Birthday, Courtney aka Bob aka BFP!
